Collaborative Resource Management: Models for the Live Reef Food Fish Trade

Within the last two decades, the global community has devoted increasing attention to the issue of sustainable development. Indee d, the impact of human activity on the world’s environment has been a growing concern for governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations and consumers alike. Such concern has led to the adoption of management programmes based upon common principles and standards as a means to conserve resources, regulate quality and promote trade.
This paper provides a general overview of selected industry standards and management programmes currently in practice throughout the world. It also provides practical models for the development of a management scheme suitable for the LRFFT.
