Shaping Sustainable Urban Development

The past year has been one of the most challenging times for Hong Kong since the handover in 1997 across social, political, as well as economic spectrums. This upsurge of civic movements reminds us of the founding values of Civic Exchange – that we should not shy away from deliberating what might seem to be unpopular or controversial issues, but they should be deliberated through an inclusive process backed by sound facts and research. Only then could we galvanise the society to come together to generate pragmatic and innovative ideas to address major issues facing Hong Kong. Civic Exchange continues to see opportunities in reflecting on how we can continue to help strengthen the city’s social and environmental resilience.
