Green Drinks With Simon Ng and Robert Gottlieb

Civic Exchange Fellow Simon Ng and American academic Robert Gottlieb, co-authors of “Global Cities: Urban Environments in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and China”, will discuss traffic problems and transport in two very different cities: Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

About the Event

Green Drinks are free community events, although the organizers request that attendees to make at least one food or beverage purchase to support the venue. Drinks start at 7 p.m., and the talk starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by Q&A at 8 p.m.

About the Speakers

Robert Gottlieb is the founder of the Urban and Environmental Policy Institute at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen books, and has been engaged in American social movements for more than 50 years.

Simon Ng is the former Chief Research Officer for Civic Exchange, a Hong Kong public policy think-tank, where he is now a Fellow. He is known for his research on air quality, urban transportation and sustainability issues, and for his ground-breaking work on Pearl River Delta ship emissions.

Prof Gottlieb and Mr Ng recently co-authored “Global Cities: Urban Environments in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and China” (2017, MIT Press).
