Civic Exchange aims to help build a better Hong Kong through public policy research to arrive at more sustainable and practical solutions. Civic Exchange continues to build on a network of quality researchers with both local and international expertise. Projects are developed as resources become available. We are currently seeking funding for the following projects:

1. To develop a“Clean Fuels Switching Campaign”though first undertaking research into the demand for, availability of and options to replace high emission industrial and marine fuels in Hong Kong and Guangdong.

2. Building on an ongoing study of cooking emissions in Hong Kong, funding is sought to undertake similar comparative studies in Guangdong.

3. To carry out further studies on the impact of demographic change on Hong Kong and make appropriate policy recommendations.

4. To carry out studies on“executive-led”government with regards to the operation of the Hong Kong Executive Council and the HKSAR Government’s proposed reforms.

5. To carry out studies on political reform options and models for the 2011 and 2012 chief executive and legislative elections.

6. To research on the impact of climate change on Greater China.

7. To research on tax reform models for Hong Kong to remain a low/simple tax system but can achieve sustainable development.

8. To explore what it means to be a "knowledge society" from a public policy perspective so that policy makers can deal more effectively with complexity in problem-solving. To project aims to study the notion of development in the Hong Kong context and identify the 'human development gaps', which exist and needs to be bridged for Hong Kong to become a knowledge-based economy. These gaps exist in areas such as education.
