Hedley Index Launch (Press Conference)
Civic Exchange launched the Hedley Environmental Index a new website created in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine at HKU, which for the first time presents in real-time the public health and monetary costs of air pollution in Hong Kong. With the government currently reviewing the Air Quality Objectives, this is a crucial time for the public to understand the full effects of air pollution.
The event included an introduction to the Hedley Environmental Index by Christine Loh, CEO of Civic Exchange, and a demonstration of the website by Edwin Lau, Director of Friends of the Earth. In addition, Professor Anthony Hedley, HKU School of Public Health, and his colleagues answered questions from the press.
