Civic Exchange, an independent, non-partisan, Hong Kong-based public policy think tank, is recruiting suitable candidates for the following positions:

1. Chief Executive Officer

Job Responsibilities

The CEO will report to the Board of CEx and work closely with them to:
• Develop long-term goals and strategies.
• Formulate and execute programmes and research projects, with attention to both quality and practical impact.   
• Promote CEx’s work to the public
• Promote CEx’s work to key stakeholders. This includes securing the resources needed to sustain our programmes and forming partnerships that advance CEx’s work.
• Oversee daily operations and staff development.
• Fundraising, managing resources and ensuring that CEx meets its financial, legal, tax and governance responsibilities.

Requirements

This is a senior management position, based in Hong Kong. A CEO should demonstrate a commitment to results, a global outlook, and the ability to motivate a team.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience with policy, research or consulting.
• Ability to assess regional and global trends for their relevance to Hong Kong.
• Track record of growing teams and programmes.
• Strong people skills, as a manager, collaborator and network builder.
• Strong communication skills, including English and Chinese proficiency.
• Experience with fundraising and the NGO sector.
• Financial management and governance skills.

2. Research Director

Job Description

The Research Director will lead and oversee the organisation’s research and policy analysis function, reporting to the CEO.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of policy research or analysis
  • Quantitative skills such as modeling and data analysis
  • Good understanding of the policy landscape and overall situation in Hong Kong
  • Strong communication and managerial skills
