Submission to the consultation on the Airport Masterplan 2030

Scientific studies not only show air pollution levels are very high in Hong Kong but also the substantial public health and economic costs involved. Our concern is that as Hong Kong continues to develop new physical infrastructure, which adds to transport density (which in this case involves more air traffic and associated activities that result in greater pollution), there is insufficient effort being put towards aggressive emissions reduction. If this imbalance is not resolved soon, air quality will not improve and can even deteriorated further.
