Non-profit public policy think tank, Civic Exchange has launched a new website today. The non-partisan site, VOTE04, is a pilot project that aims to use alternative IT means and multimedia to encourage a higher turnout rate in the coming Legislative Council (LegCo) Election.
VOTE04 is designed to provide Hong Kong people with another platform to exchange views. It also presents basic and some less known information about the LegCo election, as well as the importance to vote on 12 September 2004. We welcome all LegCo candidates and other organisations to link their websites to VOTE04.
VOTE04 consists of the following major sections:
a) Information about the 2004 LegCo election;
b) “Teen Scene”;
c) Political cartoons with animation and sound effects;
e) SMS service;
g) Multimedia gallery;
h) Web reporters’ weekly reports;
i) Useful links.
The site is lively, informative and sometimes provocative, but always easy to read and simple to navigate. The site will be updated regularly with new information and cartoons. Civic Exchange will publish a project report to share the insights gained from the experience at the end of the project.
